On November 8th, 2011. My dad turned 53! We celebrated all weekend long with a roast, games, and swiss fondue!

Garrett and I gave him 53 suckers and told him getting old sucks!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

It's been a while...

I haven't posted in a while so I should probably catch up on whats been going on.

I've been working at the radio station a lot and have been having a really good time there. I have learned so much and just yesterday I got to record a commercial!

School is just as bad as ever. I thought it was going to be amazing and fun to meet new people, but its not. It sucks. So I am leaving the University of Utah at the semester and attending Utah Valley University. I will be living at home again! I don't know if I will be keeping my internship at the radio station yet. Its all up in the air still.

Thats basically what's up right now. I'll post some videos and stuff later.

Work

I don't know if I mentioned this but I am working for Mix 107.9 and X96 now. I am an intern for them and I am having so much fun doing it!

On Saturday I went to My Chemical Romance and Blink 182 at USANA with X96. I got to meet Travis Barker and the rest of the Blink 182 group. I was really excited to meet Travis Barker as he is the best drummer I have ever seen.

Today I ran some errands with Anthony and we got to rock a 2012 Chevy Cruze with only 5 miles on it. It was awesome!

This week I have lots to do with Dew tour and Selena Gomez. Should be a good week and I am excited for it all!

Me Right Now

This is how I feel right now. Like I just want to curl up in my blankets.

Week of HUGE Changes

Monday:

-Went to math. Impression of the professor: tall, gangly, and wears clothes a 13 year old would wear.
-Went to honors writing. Stared at the teacher as he talked about something but I didn't understand a word he was saying cause it FLEW over my head.
-Got home at noon and was super tired. Napped for 4 hours.
-Woke up, ate dinner, decided to drop the stupid writing class.

Tuesday:

-Went to Educational Psychology, LOVED it.
-Skipped an honors history class and went straight to Psychology.
-Went to the bookstore. Bought books.
-Decided I had to have my car this weekend and got on the train to go home and get it. While on the train, they announced there was an accident blocking trax. Got off at Trolley.
-Walked over to Simmons Media Group and asked for an intern application, was hired on the spot.
-Got back on trax and rode to Riverton. Mom wasn't done working so I took a bus to her work.
-Went to Wingers with my mom and little brother. LOVED seeing them.
-Stopped at my second family's house and talked with them for a bit before heading back up to the U.

Wednesday:

-Got my schedule fixed. Went to math. MOST BORING LECTURE EVER.
-Went to the new honors history class (even older history than the other one). LOVED that.
-Went back to the bookstore for my new history class books.
-Took trax to the radio station. Ate lunch with one of the DJ's. Filed papers.
-Got on the X96 short bus to go to Seven Peaks in Provo, just for fun. SUPER FUN!
-Got dropped off at my house in the short bus.

Its been a good week... Oh wait, it's been THREE DAYS. This has been a great few days and it's only gonna get better. I can't wait for it. :)

College is Starting!

Its official! I am now moved into the University of Utah and classes start tomorrow! I'm super excited and just want it to hurry up and get going. Of course, in three weeks I'll likely be saying "I wish it would just end already!"

Its been such a blessing having my mom around to help me get everything I need to move. She is the best! She got me everything I needed and I am so grateful! I love her!

Hot Chelle Rae

Last week I found out I won tickets to meet Hot Chelle Rae, the band behind "Tonight Tonight" and "Bleed".  And so on wednesday, I picked up Grant and took him with me to the concert. We had a lot of fun watching them play and it was really cool to meet them. But our picture with them was a fail. Totally blurry and very dissapointing. The next day, I worked some magic and got Grant and I the hook up into a private lounge party, hosted by Mix 107.9, for another shot at the picture. We got that and more.

Ryan, Lead Singer

Nash, Guitarist

They answered questions, sang, and talked with us. They were really cool and I am glad I got to give Grant the oppourtunity to talk to them and learn from them. Thanks DJ Jared, Jake and Mix 107.9 for having Hot Chelle Rae come play for us!!

Garrett & Caisa

On August 5th, 2011 Garrett and Caisa were sealed to each other for eternity in the Idaho Falls temple.

Garrett proposed while playing the game LIFE.

The day was gorgeous and Caisa was even more so.
Even with the giant construction vehicle in the background.

I am so happy for my brother and sister in law! They are perfect for each other and I wish them both the best throughout their own LIFE!!!

Pottermore

I don't know if you have heard of Pottermore or not, but if you are a Harry Potter fan, you will be excited to hear about the site JK Rowling is launching that dives deeper into the world of Harry Potter. I was overjoyed to hear that my life would not have to live without Hogwarts and the wizarding world I have come to love so much. This week, the site was avaliable to the most dedicated and knowledgeable of the series' fans. They allowed people who were able to figure out a clue and find the Magic Quill the priviledge of registering to enter the site early. So this morning I was up at 4 am, book open, laptop ready to enter the site. And I got in. Hurray! I am MAGICAL!

Trip to Logan

This past weekend my older brother was home for a visit before his wedding this week. Today my mom, little brother, cousin, and I loaded up the car to take him home to Logan. It was a peaceful drive once all the boys fell asleep in the backseat. Once we got there we toured his apartment, and an apartment my cousin was thinking of renting. Then we went over to my mom's cousin's pizza place. They just moved from Kentucky and had bought Fox's Pizza Den. It was honestly the best pizza I have ever had in my life. I got the Buffalo Chicken pizza, which is a pizza crust, buffalo wing sauce, chicken, cheese, and ranch dressing. Sounds weird I know but I promise, BEST PIZZA EVER. If you ever have a chance to go I highly recommend it.

College

Had you asked me about college one week ago you would have gotten a response like this, "Yeah, I'm going to the U. I have no idea where I'll be staying or how I'm going to pay for it, but I am going."

The feeling of not knowing what is going to happen or how things are going to work out is an awful one. I was so nervous and scared about how in the world this was all going to work out but today, I am feeling a huge burden being lifted from my shoulders. Today I had a job interview up at the U for a tutoring program. Yesterday I recieved a letter informing me that I got the Regents Scholarship. On top of that I have recieved a scholarship for being in the top ten percent of my class, a pell grant, federal work study, and a housing stipend. The housing stipend will cover the cost of my room for the year which I just reserved this week. I am flying. I have enough money in scholarships and grants to pay for my entire first year of school, which is estimated to cost $14,800.  My life has become so much easier now that I know I will be able to pay for my schooling without having to borrow anything. If there is anything I can say to kids everywhere it is to get the best grades you can in school. Take the ACT as many times as you can to get the highest score you can. Life is so much easier when you know you've done all you can and now someone else will be paying for your schooling.

Now I am looking forward to August 18th when my college journey will begin and I will move into my new room on Officers Circle.

Spiders...

About a week ago I awoke to find a cluster of five spiderbites on the back of my thigh.  A spider, and maybe some of its itsy bitsy friends had enjoyed a feast on me in the middle of the night and I did NOT appreciate it.  It had entered my room uninvited and then proceeded to join me in my bed. I was furious and wanted that thing dead. So I prepared a massacre on spiders throughout my bedroom. I had to prep first though and so I put all my pillows, blankets, clothes, and other various items in my closet. With the help of my father, I then executed all spiders in the vicinity using an indoor fogger. I had triumphed. There were no longer any spiders in my room. However I now have a bigger problem on my hands,

Clean up.

Everything in my closet exploded out and a twister ran through my room. It made a huge mess and now I am left with the clean up. All because an eight-legged creature crawled into bed with me.

Insomnia Sucks

For the past few days I have not been sleeping well. I don't know why but I have been lying awake until 2,3, or 4 in the morning. I will stare and stare at my ceiling or the cup on my nightstand and the next thing I know it has been an hour or two. I want to sleep!

My Favorite Radio Station

This year has been a great one for me. I have won so many things on the radio and amazingly, all from the same station. Mix 107.9 is my favorite station! I am even facebook friends with DJ Jared. He is awesome!

I've won tickets to Disney on Ice, SickPuppies, Earthfest and now, Harry Potter 7.2.

I am sooo excited for the last Harry Potter movie and am so grateful to Mix for hooking me up!
Thanks Mix 107.9!!

I am ADDICTED.

So... for the past few days I have been watching this show.  It is a really interesting show to watch that I have become kind of addicted to in the past two days.  I watched 12 episodes already and can't wait to find out who is still going to be there in the end.  So let me tell you now that I am addicted and currently have no interest in quitting.

Ashley is such a cute girl and I can't wait to see who she ends up with. My favorite guy from the beginning was J.P. (Jordan Paul) He is so sweet and is really cute.

So don't laugh at me, but as of right now I am in love with this show and I can't wait to see Ashley fall in love.  I used to see this show and think 'Ick. Drama. I do not want to watch anything like that, it looks so stupid' and now, here I am, totally into the show. I'll post again soon. :)

Stadium of Fire 2011

For the past few days I was volunteering for the Stadium of Fire at LaVell Edwards Stadium wherein Brad Paisley and David Archuleta were performing. I made some great new friends and had some amazing experiences. I feel like telling you about some of them, so here it is.

On friday, the art crew (my group) were helping out the set guys so we could do our job, and I met a couple guys from Tennessee. They were really cool and had sweet accents.  That night, around 11, David Archuleta got up onstage to do a sound check/rehearsal. The two guys from Tennessee and some of the crew sat right up on the front row to watch the rehearsal and when I saw David I waved at him. On of the guys on the crew with me, Jordan, said "don't wave, he's not gonna wave back." And guess what? He waved back. Feeling that 'haha i was right and just got a wave from David Archuleta' feeling, I did an extreme happy dance in my seat. David saw it and I noticed him laughing. Two seconds later, he was walking to the edge of the stage. I couldn't hold back and I made a run for it. I shook his hand and introduced myself, just before everyone else joined me to say hello. After that nice visit, we all sat down and watched David sing. After every song he thanked us, and during "A Little Too Not Over You" he pointed straight at me. He also said after one of his songs, "Thanks guys, this is nice its, like, intimate but in a really, huge place." Seriously, it was the best night of my life.

Then on saturday we worked all day in the hot sun and that night I high fived David as he exited the stage and I got some really good pictures of Brad Paisley.

It was overall a very good experience, and now, I am super sore and tired but have loved looking back and cannot wait to do it all again next year!
